Between business simulations and moments of discussion with companies, the event confirms itself as a bridge between the university and the world of work

THE'University of Calabria and Artemat They enthusiastically celebrated the conclusion of theIG For You Challenge 2024, held on November 14 and 15 at the university campus. The business game competition saw the best graduates and recent undergraduates in Management Engineering from six Italian universities compete, including the Polytechnic of Bari, theUniversity of Naples Federico II, theParthenope University, theUniversity of Salerno, theUniversity of Salento and the host university, in a competition that confirmed its role as a bridge between the academic world and the business world.

The competition was built around the concept of “investment portfolio”, a management simulation in which teams were tasked with managing a diversified corporate portfolio across three industrial sectors: telecommunications, automotive and biotechnology. After an initial analysis phase, teams invested an initial budget to acquire shares in three companies, with the aim of maximizing the overall value of the portfolio. In the subsequent rounds, each team strategically managed the selected companies, with the aim of increasing their market value.

The participants faced the challenge with a highly professional managerial approach, demonstrating strategic and operational skills, a strong fighting spirit and an exceptional attitude to teamwork. The competition was particularly tight and exciting until the last round, a testimony to the excellence demonstrated by the young talents.

The first place in the ranking the amaranth team of the won itUniversity of Salento, which stood out for the coherence of the strategies adopted and the high capacity to adapt to market dynamics.

While the recognition for the best “Pitch Yourself” was awarded to Humble Magarò, a student at the University of Calabria, who was able to impress the HR of the partner companies with a brilliant and incisive presentation, demonstrating excellent communication and personal branding skills.

The event was enriched by the presence of HR of He's availing himselfFincantieriDeloitte and Rai, who actively participated in the various phases, offering company presentations, direct observations and opportunities for discussion with the participants. The networking sessions, including coffee breaks and the “social dinner” at the end of the first day, encouraged constructive and informal dialogue, strengthening the role of the IG For You Challenge as a unique opportunity for young talents and businesses to meet.

The organizers expressed satisfaction with the success of the event, underlining the commitment and involvement shown by students and partner companies. The importance of initiatives like this one to prepare future professionals and promote integration between the academic world and the business fabric was reiterated.
